OLIVES & OLIVE OIL TASTING

Discover a traditional, organic, family-run olive farm in the heart of a nature reserve in the beautiful Italian countryside...
With over 2000 olive trees across more than 50 acres of land, our farm is the perfect place to learn all about the production of our 'liquid' and 'green' gold.

This olive themed experience begins with a tour of our olive farm and an introduction to the process of producing table olives and extra virgin olive oil.
​
Then you'll be invited to taste the olive oil itself, along with our table olives, in a guided tasting session before enjoying an aperitivo with a fresh spritz or glass of Prosecco.

Transportation from and to the centre of Matera can be arranged upon request.

TRANSPORTATION
If required, guests will be picked up and dropped off by a member of the team from the farmhouse. The journey is 15 minutes and will use an air conditioned, comfortable modern car.

Silvia, Greg and Agriturismo L'Assiolo invite you to a guided lunch or dinner set at our stunning olive farm just outside of Matera.

This unique food and wine experience starts with a tour of our olive farm and an explanation of how we produce our authentic Italian extra virgin olive oil. Then it’s time to sit down and begin your tasting journey through the flavours of one of the oldest regions in Italy.
​
You’ll be guided through some of the local produce and recipes, paired with some of our world class local wines, learning all about how these flavours come together to create that authentic Italian taste. What’s more, you’ll get to dive deeper into Italian culinary tradition and learn how to eat, drink and enjoy food and wine – just like the Italians do.
